"THE BEST WAY TO OBSERVE A FISH IS TO BECOME A FISH."
So you want to learn to dive and you're not sure where to start? The PADI system of dive education gives you several excellent options!
Many choose to start with a Try Scuba session, where you learn some of the basics and spend it an hour or so experience the excitement of breathing underwater in a swimming pool. Try Scuba does not provide you with a certification, but gives you a wonderful opportunity to try diving in a cost-effective and obligation-free way.
If you feel you're ready to jump right into a certification course, the PADI Open Water Diver course is your best choice. Divers starting at age 10, can become certified open water divers. The course can be structured several ways, including online self-study for the required knowledge development components. With online learning, you complete that portion of the class before we begin to work together on the pool and open water training components. Our private instruction allows the PADI Open Water Diver course can be customized to your needs and schedule. Give us a call and we can explore your goals and design a course structure that works for you!
A subset of the open water course called PADI Scuba Diver is also an option. This course has some advantages, particularly for children who may not be ready for the full academics, but is a restricted certification level and not qualified for independent diving.

It's important to understand that getting your Open Water Diver certification establishes a basic level of knowledge and experience for a new diver.
